KAL, a flagship program of KFA, was introduced in 2016-17 as part of Youth football development in every registered academy in the state. We currently have around 75 academies which are registered with our Academy League for the U-10, U-12, U-14 & U-16 categories.

History of KAL

After having witnessed an increment in the level of participation at the grassroots level for the past 2 years especially after the introduction of Summer Coaching Camps at the District Football Association Level, the KFA Academy League was introduced to induce positive competition among academies in Kerala which will eventually improve the quality of football in these academies & the State as a whole. A total of 48 matches were played in the U-10 Category & a total of 128 matches were played in the U-12 Category at the district level in 2016-17. 8 teams in the U-10 category & 11 teams in the U-12 category qualified for the zonal round.

Tournament Structure:

Matches are conducted on a home & away basis during weekends with the support of Kerala District Football Associations, academies and parents in the U-10, U-12, U-14 & U-16 Categories.
