KFA initiates Football Development in Kerala today
Sports in Kerala today is a part of mainstream culture , with football being its first love, producing exceptional talent that has donned national colours. The state has also produced a number of legendary footballers
Kerala Premier League
KPL was introduced in 2013-14 with 10 teams for men & it was introduced in 2014-15 with 8 teams for women. In the men’s category, Eagles FC won the inaugural edition of KPL, State Bank of India (erstwhile State Bank of Travancore) bagged the trophy twice while Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) won it once.
Kerala Academy League
After having witnessed an increment in the level of participation at the grassroots level for the past 2 years especially after the introduction of Summer Coaching Camps at the District Football Association Level, the Kerala Academy League was introduced to induce positive competition among academies in Kerala.
Coaching & Education
If we wish to develop players capable of competing at the highest level, we will have to tap into the potential of our massive ‘youth soccer population’. We need to focus on bringing them into the system through well planned scouting & player development programs. Only coaches with an eye for talent & players development can help KFA achieve this goal.
